What is most detrimental to human progress?

by human progress I mean evolving to such a state where there will no longer be need for wars, violence, or pride, where scientific/medical breakthroughs will not be suppressed by religion or money, where people will learn to get along and everyone will work towards optimizing the human experience for everyone else.
