Which engineering major is more lucrative/enjoyable: aerospace or environmental?

I am big on out doors and I have always been into flight and space. At first I was leaning towards aerospace but after reading up on it it seems like I'd just be writing reports and sitting in labs all day. I want to be able to enjoy my job and work out in the field, while still making a good salary. Which would be better?
