Do i need any injections before to go to Peten (Guatemala)? ?
If you will notice the previous post, all the injections except yellow fever are recommended. Not required. Also, many doctors will tell you that if you are going to stay more than a couple of weeks or so the chloroquine regimen (which is pills, not vaccinations) for malaria is harder on you than the p. vivax strain of malaria, which is quite easily put under control if you do get it, that you may contract down here. If you want to get all those vaccinations for your own piece of mind than by all means do so, but thousands of folks visit Central America every year without taking that lengthy list of medicines and do just fine. You should worry more about gastric distress from drinking local water or Dengue Fever for which there is no vaccination.
