Hit a pedestrian.....?

i hit a pedestrian with my friends car while backing out of the parking lot at work....now the guy has gotten a lawyer and have filed a claim with my friends insurance company....know i was just wondering if wat they want in money exceeds his coverage will they go after my insurance company and also will the insurance company drop my friend and wat about my insurance company...should i get a lawyer??
