Orchid having problems - "stem" turned yellow, now spotted leaf?

Reading your posted question I think you are possible talking about a Phalaenopsis Orchid. If that's the type of orchid you have I would say the flowering time has finished and all the orchid flowers on the "brown stem" as you call it have finished their life and fallen off the stem just leaving the empty brown stem behind. The large green elongated wide leaf sometimes also at the end of the flowering period can begin to die off and become a dry wrinkled brown leaf. There is nothing to worry about if that's what's happening to your plant. Cut the old dry stem off and when the dry leaf has fully dried out you can give it a gentle tug and it will possibly come away from the plant. New growth will eventually grow from the centre part of the plant and is normally a new leaf and all going well you will notice a new flower spike also coming from the centre of the plant possibly early next year. These types of orchids are basically an indoors plant and the leaves etc can become sun burnt if you place them outside. Ideally the plant should possibly be re potted now with new Orchid potting mix as it appears the plant is outgrowing its' pot. They are pretty hardy, just remove the whole plant gently from its' pot, clean up any damaged or rotted roots and then put it in the next up sized pot that what you have removed it from. Orchids need to be cramped in the pot as that makes them flower again in the new season. If you put them in a much larger pot it probably won't flower for several years. They flourish indoors as long as they can get in-direct sunlight but also do well on large window sills facing the outside but not against the gl as winter ice and snow will burn the leaves in winter. Put the plant on a saucer with about 3/8" of sand and just keep it moist not wet or it will rot. Maybe a small diluted dose of Orchid food later, just before it begins to grow again.

Question about fans... why is it dangerous to block the suction side of axial fans, but not squirrel cage fans?

I am guessing that a squirrel cage motor allows slippage between the motor`s rotating electromagnetic force field and it`s drive shaft without drawing excessive current where as an axial fan`s motor does not. Blocking the air input to either fan would necessitate more power and thus more Amps to maintain the fan`s RPM if no slippage is allowed to occur.

I'm FtM, and I don't really try to figure out why God made me this way. I'm not sure why. I guess I'm just not one to look backward, just look forward for solutions. I pray a lot to God to help me with my transition, I thank him too for how far I've come. I think a lot of the trauma Transual people face is social, not because of how they are, but because of how they are treated because of how they are. The only times I've felt bad about being FtM, is when socially people see me as a girl, when people tell me I'm a girl when I'm not etc. I never had a problem accepting I was FtM, and I never bothered much time mourning over not being cisgendered. Maybe that's just me.

Does my acid reducer interfere with my probiotic supplement?

I am currently taking lactobaccillus GG. The name brand is culterelle. On the package it says that the capsule shell is made in a way that it stays in tact so that the good bacteria stays inside and survives the stomach acid so it will colonize in your intestines to most bennefit you. My question is, If the capsule shell is so durable to protect the contents inside, then what makes it release in your gut later on to do its job. Is it a possibility that the entire capsule will just come out in the toilet? Also I am taking prilosec otc for very frequent heart burn. If I do not have enough stomach acid (due to the prilosec) to break down atleast part of the capsule shell (culterelle), will it still eventually release in my intestine and colonize. To be honest, I do not think that the refereeing in general has been the best in this euro. The last game I watched was Germany vs Croatia. There's no doubt the germans didn't play good. But, the referee refused to give a croatian player a yellow-red card in the first half that was very clear, didn't not allow a german goal that was clear (there was no challenge on the goalie in the box), and he sent off a german player with a yellow-red card (the croatian player took him down from behind and then play acted as if he got hit in the face). that should have been a yellow card for both actions for him as well.

3 test's when i was 5 weeks (without knowing obviously) but they were all faint, the one i took at my doctors was faint. But two lines she was was 100% positive. Your link is broken but if there is two definately lines (even if it is slightly faint) your still pregnant. My proof is that i was 5 weeks when i fist found out and all the test were as i said faint! :) oh and on the box of one of the tests it says one line - not pregnant, two definate lines - pregnant, two lines but one faint - pregnant. I received a fracture in my 5th metacarpal bone in my foot. They are treating without surgery, because a pin may further damage the bone. Lime is the answer to the clay problem. Breaks it up and stops it clumping. However,for a large area,that can be expensive. If you can wait a year,potatoes are good at cleaning up clays,and will grow well. Also roses do very well. My father had 350 rose bushes in our heavy clay soil in Hertfordshire and exhibited every year at the National Rose Society shows at Olympia, and won many prizes. Their national show grounds are only eight miles from us,on the same type of soil,in St. Albans. We've always grown our own stuff,but he started from scratch with the roses when we moved house. To break it up more quickly,grit and course sand are useful,and as much organic matter as you can find, like clippings,trimmings,gr cuttings,anything. This time of year there are loads of leaves to collect. Sacks of leaves can be dug in,and more left to form leaf-mould for use later. It takes an awful lot of material to be effective,so it's a year-on-year job to convert your clay into a more friable soil. You can buy topsoil from garden centres,but to get enough to be of much use for a clay garden would be very expensive. Sometimes you can find it advertised by builders or others who are clearing a piece of land and you can buy a truck-load of it for maybe £50-£100. Topsoil is the top layer of soil that has had stuff growing in it for ages,and so has the structure and nutrients that the normal growing process gives. Old rotted roots,generations of plants decaying into it,old insect bodies,worms having their go at it,all makes for a friable,nutrient-rich soil.Hedgerow soil is marvelous,if you can get it. All nutrients get leached out of soil if they are not replaced,as rain-water soaks through it. That's why the sea is salty. The salt got washed from rocks and soils into the rivers and into the sea,over millions of years. Clay is almost impervious to water when it's heavy,so the nutrients don't get washed through as easily. Also,clay particles are very small and so have a lot of surface area in relation to their diameter (look up the maths,it's all fun,'onest),and nutrients can cling much better by adsorption (with a 'd',not 'b'....also look up). Clays can therefore be quite nutritious,but have the problem of waterlogging due to them having only small gaps between the particles. Even dry clays have very little aeration and this is one of the reasons why ancient artifacts,some of them thousands of years old, are often found preserved in them with relatively little damage. Not much use for growing most plants,however, hence the advice of adding grit and course sand,to ist in aeration and drainage. Only aerated soils can allow most plants to develop good roots. Roses do well largely because of the style of roots they have,as with potatoes. Also,as plants grow they use the nutrients available in the soil. If you are growing veg and keep taking the veg out without adding nutrients to the soil,the available nutrients will get depleted,so the plants grow less well year after year. That is the idea of crop rotation. Putting different plants into the same bit of soil each year balances what is taken out and what is put in. Some plants actually put nutrients into the soil as they grow. Legumes(peas,beans) are the best-known example. I need a chefs help?

Most cooks are fans of cooking things that cook quickly or that can be put together quickly and then need little attention till they are almost done. My favorite is plain baked chicken with a few herbs and spices that you can change according to your taste or the season. This can be used with a whole chicken or chicken pieces. Pre-heat your oven to 400 degrees. Rinse the chicken with cool water if using a whole chicken remove the heart, gizzard and neck ( be sure to check both cavities on the bird) . Place some softened er mixed with your herbs I'd pick garlic, basil and parsley under the skin of the chicken. Sprinkle the outside of the bird or pieces with a little salt, black pepper and paprika for color. Bake for approx. 15 minutes and turn the oven down to 350 degrees for 45 more minutes. The outside should be crisp the inside tender with no blood visible close to the bone. Allow to rest lightly covered for 10 minutes after removing from the oven before testing for doness. During this time the chicken will continue to cook the juices will be absorbed back into the meat and not end up on your plate. A simple side dish is to cut up red potatoes into bite sized pieces and toss them with a little oil, salt & pepper and roast them in another pan with maybe some herbs.

It's harmonics. You have to have a paticular type of gl, thin crystal is best (red wine goblets) but you can also do it with a normal drinking gl. You need to wet your finger to glide it over the rim lightly. Not too much pressure or too much water, but enought to create friction. What your doing is causing a vibration that creates a sound inside the gl. The amount of water that's in the gl changes the tone. That is why in the movie she had different gles at different levels.

I'd probably like the grey best, with black shingles, but then the colour of the paint on the outside isn't high on my list of important things to look for when buying a house. If it's 3 storeys high and the upper portions are done in screaming orange, maybe it would bother me, otherwise I'd be more concerned that whatever paint it has is in good shape so it wouldn't be a big deal to change the colour when I got around to it. For resale, my guess is that the tan is your best bet. Lighter colours make the house look bigger.

Hi I was just curious about what an LPN does? How long does the school take? Can you do online and in cl work? What do LPN's make can they make a living? Uncharted: Drakes Fortune and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, these are action packed adventure/3rd person shooter games but they are spectacular. The first one was so good it didn't drop in price at all until the second one was released 2 years later. in's Creed 2 is also very good and worth a look at. It was a little hard to understand with how you wrote this whole thing but from what I managed to gather, no you are not screwed. Call the universities and ask them what you could do to transfer into another program. Now seeing that you haven't been in college I don't see why you would have applied to programs. Usually, your first two years are spent taking core cles that can get you closer to the field of your choice. Once you've been accepted, decide which college has all the different programs you might be interested and then you have almost 2 years to decided what you would like to do. Good Luck.

Potty training blues -- can you help?

What worked for our daughter was a little treat she got to pick when she went potty. What I did was got a basket, went to the dollar store and picked out maybe $15 worth of well little things I know she would like.... I called it "The Treasure Chest" and she ONLY got to pick if she went on the potty. It worked like a charm because she was allowed to pick a treat from this basket full of stuff and to a tot that young that is FUN!! We did that for getting rid of the binky too. Whenever she would want the binky, we had her pick a treat and exchange her binky for it. Tots are all about "their choice" so if they are able to choose a treat they want, it's better then just giving them something they didn't pick. And these are just cheapy $1 things, but they don't know that. LOL

Don't know about QVC but my thought has always been that Ashley furniture is cheaply constructed. I have really thick and curly hair and I had already straightened it because I thought it would look better that way, it does for the most part but it's still really thick. When I shut my key off there is a few seconds delay before the engine shuts down. When I try to start it up again it usually sputters a bit before it smoothes to an idle. I am guessing this is too much fuel in the throttle body. I read I am not supposed to try adn adjust the idle because its self controlled but am wondering if maybe its off time a little bit or what I can do to keep it running smoothly.

In a duplex you have very close neighbors and the noise of community living can be annoying. You will also pay a higher mortgage rate on rental property. With the rental unit you are subjected to other peoples financial problems( late payments,evictions etc) and excuses or complaints. I've been in love with this guy for three years. I've always been very supportive of him and loving. I got pregnant in the second year I knew him and when I told him he said he was going to dissapear. I ended up having a miscarriage and was devastated. He never once did anything to help comfort me and was already dating and having with someone new from his college.When she broke up with him he called me crying saying he was so in love with her and wanted her back and never even asked me if I was okay. We started to communicate more often after the fact and arranged for me to come visit him, he goes to school in another state. I brought the sonogram with me and a letter I wrote when I lost the baby because I never had the chance to have his support or tell him how I was feeling. I spent 700 dollars for the plane tickets to see him, when I was on the plane he told me over the phone that I was a "*****" and that when i got to the airport he wasnt going to be there. I cried the whole plane ride because it was too late for me to get off the plane and I was headed to another state with no one there or no purpose to be there. I ended up having to stay the weekend in a hotel and just cried. I havent been perfect during everything and I've gotten angry and sad because of the way hes treated me and tried to push him away. I havent seen him at all since having the miscarriage and I feel crushed and so much pain. He recently said he wanted to be with me and that he loved me after a year went by yet he makes endless promises of not forgetting me on valentines day or coming to visit and help fix the past and he never keeps them. As much as I love him and want so badly for things to work out I finally had enough of being let down that I said It was over. He said fine and that it was my fault for not trusting him. Hes always been nice to his other girlfriends and made them stuff and was devasted when he broke up with them...but for me he couldnt care less.
